Report: Sunderland target Fenerbahce duo

Reports in Turkey claim that Sunderland are readying an £18m bid for Fenerbahce pair Raul Meireles and Moussa Sow.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has reportedly made Fenerbahce's Raul Meireles and Moussa Sow his main transfer targets this summer.

Midfielder Meireles has previous experience of the Premier League, having spent two years in England with Liverpool and Chelsea, while centre-forward Sow started his career in France before making the switch to Turkey.

Both featured on a regular basis for the Istanbul-based outfit last term, but Poyet will look to test Fenerbahce's resolve by making an £18m offer for the pair, according to reports in Turkey.

Meanwhile, the Sunderland Journal has claimed that the Black Cats are monitoring Ever Banega's situation at Valencia.
