Chris Kirkland has reportedly quit Sheffield Wednesday without playing a single game for the club.
The 31-year-old only joined the Owls earlier this summer on a free transfer following his release from Wigan Athletic.
However, he has found travelling to Yorkshire from his Merseyside home every day for training difficult and as a result has asked for his contract to be torn up, according to The People.
Kirkland's departure would leave Wednesday boss Dave Jones without an established goalkeeper.
