German goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann has revealed his delight after signing a new two-year contract with Preston North End.
The 32-year-old, whose initial deal was due to run out at the end of the month, will now remain with the club until at least the completion of the 2014-15 campaign.
"It feels really good, I was looking forward to this day since I have been back in Germany. I'm more than happy and I am looking forward to the season," he told the club's official website.
Meanwhile, manager Simon Grayson added: "I think we are going to have some great competition between Stucky and Declan.
"It gives me great options in the goalkeeping area and I am sure, along with Steven James, under the tutelage of Alan Kelly, it will be a hard-working unit."
Stuckmann joined Preston from Alemannia Aachen in 2011.
