Half-Time Report: Constable gives Oxford deserved lead

James Constable's 24th-minute strike gives League Two leaders Oxford United a 1-0 half-time lead over Rochdale at the Kassam Stadium.

James Constable's 24th-minute strike has given League Two leaders Oxford United a 1-0 half-time lead against Rochdale at the Kassam Stadium.

Constable, who has been the U's leading goalscorer for the past five seasons, tapped home from close range after Danny Rose's initial effort had been parried by goalkeeper Josh Lillis.

Oxford have been good value for their lead. Chris Wilder's men have peppered Lillis's goal with eight shots in the first half.

Constable's opener has ensured that this will be the 16th consecutive game between these sides that has not ended goalless.
