Byron Anthony to return to training next week

Newport County defender Bryon Anthony will return to first-team training next week after six months on the sidelines with a broken leg.

Newport County physio Adam Roche has revealed that defender Byron Anthony will return to first-team training next week.

The 29-year-old, who moved to Newport from Hereford United in 2012, has been out of action since breaking his tibia and fibula in August.

Roche told the club's official website: "Many months of hard work, rehabilitation and being a consummate professional will see Byron returning nearly three months earlier than anticipated.

"From what I have seen during his end stage rehab, Byron is moving extremely well and I have no doubt he will kick on from here."

Anthony started his career at Cardiff City, but failed to make a first-team appearance before moving to Bristol Rovers in 2006.
