Ibrahim Afellay remains hopeful of qualification to the Euro 2012 quarter-finals from Group B, despite a poor start.

Netherlands winger Ibrahim Afellay has said that he remains hopeful of qualification to the Euro 2012 quarter-finals from Group B.

The Netherlands are currently bottom of the group after two successive defeats ahead of the final round of fixtures this evening. However, Afellay says that the team still "have a lot of belief".

"We still have the possibility of going through, so the boys are very focused. We have to grab this chance with both hands, and we know exactly what we have to do," Afellay told UEFA's official website.

He was also wary of the Portuguese threat, saying: "Portugal are a top team. Individually they have a lot of quality and up front, especially, they have a lot of power, speed and goalscoring potential."

Afellay has started both games for the Netherlands so far.
