Patrick Bamford begins Middlesbrough's clash against West Ham United on the bench following his move from Chelsea.

Aitor Karanka has opted to make two changes from the side that drew a blank in the stalemate with Watford last time out, Max Clayton and Adama Traore being preferred to Fabio da Silva and Grant Leadbitter.

Midfielder Daniel Ayala remains uninvolved as he serves the second of a three-match ban.

Slaven Bilic makes just the one change from the Hammers' 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace, as Sam Byram comes in for James Collins, who drops to the bench.

The otherwise-unchanged lineup means that Sofiane Feghouli, Winston Reid and Andy Carroll have all shaken off knocks to start.

As expected, wantaway Dimitri Payet plays no part in today's fixture.

Middlesbrough: Valdes; Chambers, Bernardo, Gibson; Friend, Clayton, Forshaw, De Roon, Traore; Stuani, Negredo

West Ham United: Randolph; Byram, Reid, Obiang, Cresswell; Noble, Ogbonna; Feghouli, Lanzini, Antonio; Carroll
