Liverpool have reportedly entered the race to sign highly-rated Benfica youngster Renato Sanches.
The 18-year-old is understood to be on the radar of a number of Europe's top clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The Liverpool Echo claims that the Reds joined their Premier League rivals United and Chelsea in sending scouts out to watch the youngster during his side's 2-1 defeat to Porto, in which he assisted the Benfica goal.
Sanches has only made 20 appearances for Benfica's senior team, but reports suggest that his recently-signed contract with the club includes a £62m release clause.
The Portuguese giants are allegedly willing to let the youngster go for £47m, however, which would surpass the initial £36m fee United paid for Anthony Martial in the summer to make him the most expensive teenager in football history.
