Everton 'eye £22m Marcos Rojo move'

Everton reportedly line up Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo as a late £22m transfer target.

Everton are reportedly considering a late deadline-day swoop for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.

New Everton boss Marco Silva has made a defensive addition one of his primary transfer targets in the closing stages of the window, with speculation linking the club to Yerry Mina and Kurt Zouma.

The Telegraph now reports that the Toffees are also hopeful of signing Rojo in a deal worth around £22m, although that could rely on United bringing in a replacement of their own before the 5pm deadline.

United have also been credited with an interest in Mina, but could be reluctant to lose a defender having seemingly missed out on Toby Alderweireld, Diego Godin and Harry Maguire this summer.

Rojo would be free to leave the club if a replacement is brought in, while the 29-year-old is also thought to be open to a move in a bid to play more regular first-team football.

Everton have also been heavily linked with a move for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes on loan.
