Everton are reportedly considering a late move for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes before today's 5pm transfer deadline.
The 25-year-old struggled for game time during Barca's title-winning campaign last term, making just six starts in La Liga, and is unlikely to force his way into Ernesto Valverde's plans this season.
A number of top-flight sides have been linked with a move this summer, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Valencia, although any formal bids for the Portuguese have yet to materialise.
According to The Sun, the Toffees are now weighing up whether to take Gomes as part of the proposed deal that will see Yerry Mina join them from the Catalan side.
The newspaper says that the issue of Gomes came up during negotiations for Mina, although any transfer would most likely be for a season-long loan with a permanent option next summer.
Everton are also expected to complete the signing of former Shakhtar Donetsk winger Bernard on a free transfer before today's deadline.
