Bayern Munich 'hopeful' that Toni Kroos will stay

Bayern Munich confirm that they are eager to keep Toni Kroos, with financial director Jan-Christian Dreesen 'hopeful' that an agreement can be reached with the player.

Bayern Munich's financial director Jan-Christian Dreesen has revealed that he is 'hopeful' that Toni Kroos will sign a new contract with the club.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United, with the Premier League club reportedly ready to offer him a wage of £250,000 per week.

However, Dreesen has confirmed that Bayern will soon offer "something substantial" to convince Kroos to stay at the Allianz Arena.

"We are ready to keep on discussing with Toni Kroos and I am hoping to be able to see these talks end successfully. We are about to put up something substantial in this respect," Dreesen is quoted as saying by Sport-BILD.

"We really want to appreciate the performances of Toni."

Kroos's current contract runs out in 2015.
