Philipp Lahm has revealed that he would be comfortable if he was required to play in midfield for Germany during this summer's World Cup.
The Germans currently have injury concerns over holding midfielders Sami Khedira, Ilkay Gundogan and Sven Bender ahead of the tournament.
Although primarily a right-back, Lahm has been pushed further forward by Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola at times this season, and the 30-year-old has insisted that he would be happy to be deployed in a similar position for his country.
Speaking about his club teammates and compatriots Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos to Bild, Lahm said: "We have played together as a 'double six' but every opponent was very deep, so we had to move a lot.
"Everything is an option. We played at Bayern earlier this season, also with Toni Kroos, when Thiago was still injured. We train together every day, so it's possible."
Lahm has made 32 appearances for club and country this season.
