David Moyes ready for management return

David Moyes says that he is ready to put his Manchester United nightmare behind him and start afresh as the Scot eyes a return to management.

David Moyes believes that he is ready for a return to football management, six months after he was sacked by Manchester United.

Moyes endured an ill-fated 10-month spell at Old Trafford as the Scot was dismissed in April for presiding over the club's worst season in the Premier League era.

However, the 51-year-old insists that he is now ready to start afresh, and believes that his short-lived stint with the Red Devils has hardened him to the realities of the job.

"I'm ready to go," the former Everton boss told The Telegraph. "I've no time-scale. I'm enjoying the break but I'm a football man and I want to work. I feel my best years are ahead of me and I do feel I am still a young manager. I've lots to learn and lots I want to put into practice.

"I think I am better-equipped to take over a job like Manchester United now than even when I did take over because I've had a chance to see what happens, what goes on.

"I felt I was ready when I left Everton but obviously when you get in you see things and you realise that experience and knowledge you can only get from being in the job. But unfortunately I only got nine months."

Reports earlier today had linked Moyes with replacing under-fire Walter Mazzarri at Inter Milan.
