Jordan Henderson wants Manchester United to help Liverpool in title race

Jordan Henderson says that he and his teammates want Manchester United to beat Manchester City in order to help Liverpool's title bid.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has admitted that he and his teammates "probably" want Manchester United to beat Manchester City in order to help them in the Premier League title race.

The Merseyside outfit are in contention for their first league title since 1990, but Chelsea and City are also in the running for the coveted trophy.

Liverpool are currently four points adrift of leaders Chelsea in the table, while City are six points off the top with three games in hand on the Blues.

A win for United at Old Trafford tonight would help Liverpool's title bid, but Henderson has insisted that the club are just focused on their own games.

"We probably want them to win, yeah, but first and foremost, we have just got to concentrate on ourselves," the Daily Star quotes Henderson as saying.

The Reds will take on Sunderland at Anfield this evening.
