Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he expects Patrice Evra to shake Liverpool player Luis Suarez's hand when the two sides meet next weekend.
Suarez, who has now served his eight-match ban for directing racial abuse at the Frenchman during their October clash, is expected to face Evra for the first time since then when the two sides meet in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford.
"Patrice has shown the courage to fight it by complaining about it, so therefore he has nothing to be ashamed of," he said.
"He should be applauded for what he did. The matter's now over and he can rise above it, Patrice. I don't think it's a problem shaking hands."
Meanwhile, Liverpool knocked Manchester United out of the FA Cup at Anfield last weekend.
