Sergio Aguero is not fit enough to feature for Manchester City in their Premier League match against Aston Villa tomorrow night, manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed.
The Argentine frontman came off with a groin injury after scoring City's first against Everton on Saturday and will now sit out the penultimate game of the season.
"Aguero has not recovered 100% from his groin injury. He is not in the squad list," Pellegrini told a press conference this afternoon.
Pellegrini is hoping that the 25-year-old, who has scored an impressive 17 league goals in just 22 appearances this season, will be fit to play in Sunday's end-of-season game against West Ham United.
"Maybe [Aguero] can have a chance for Sunday," he added. "We'll see how he improves during the week to see if he can play on Sunday."
After last night's second-half collapse by Liverpool at Crystal Palace, two City wins against Villa and West Ham will guarantee them the Premier League title.
