Liverpool have agreed to sign teenager Paulinho from Portuguese third-tier club Sanjoanense.
It has been confirmed that the 17-year-old midfield ace has travelled to Merseyside with his father to undergo a medical.
The youngster is expected to finish the season in Portugal before joining up with new manager Brendan Rodgers in the summer.
On Sanjoanense's official website, a statement read: "Sanjoanense informs that, after many months of negotiations, they have reached an agreement with Liverpool for the transfer, outright, of Paulo Alves (Paulinho).
"The agreement comes after a period of testing at the legendary English club, which met the expectations of his parents. It should be formalised in the coming days, with the player allowed to travel to Liverpool in the company of his father."
Liverpool are preparing to face Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Sunday.
