Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard reportedly agrees a new two-year deal with the Reds that will keep him on Merseyside until 2015.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has reportedly agreed a fresh two-year deal at Anfield, committing his future to the Reds until 2015.

Gerrard has been in negotiations over a new contract since May after finishing his campaign prematurely to undergo shoulder surgery.

According to The Telegraph, the 33-year-old will sign the two-year contract this week ahead of joining the Liverpool squad on a pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia.

The Reds skipper will be looking to find fitness ahead of his testimonial match, which will be held next month against Olympiacos on August 3.

Gerrard passed 600 Liverpool appearances last season, having played his entire professional career with the club he joined aged 14.
