Craig Bellamy says that Liverpool are in "good shape" to challenge for a top-four spot and clinch the Carling Cup trophy.

Craig Bellamy is confident that Liverpool can finish the season on a high with a Carling Cup final and FA Cup campaign still to come.

The Reds are chasing a coveted top-four spot in the Premier League alongside Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United.

"We're in good shape," Bellamy told the club's official website. "We had eight games in the space of three or four weeks and the squad's been tested. Reaching the [Carling Cup] final and getting to Wembley was big for us.

"We've got a chance to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals if we beat Brighton, we're in the final of the League Cup, we're four points off fourth and have a fully fit squad. We have a good chance to up the charge and end the season on a positive note."

Kenny Dalglish's side could potentially climb into fifth place if they defeat Manchester United tomorrow.
