Mario Balotelli recovery to take "four weeks"

AC Milan reveal that Liverpool loanee Mario Balotelli will be out of action for around a month following groin surgery.

AC Milan have confirmed that Mario Balotelli will be sidelined for "four weeks" with a groin injury.

The Serie A outfit announced yesterday that the 25-year-old was to undergo surgery on the complaint in Munich.

The operation has now been completed, with the Liverpool loanee expected to return to fitness in a month.

"AC Milan communicate that Mario Balotelli underwent surgery in Munich," read a statement on the club's official site.

"The operation was technically successful and the recovery times are of about four weeks, assuming there are no complications."

Balotelli has scored once in his four Serie A outings for Milan this term.
