Former Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli has insisted that Fulham midfielder Clint Dempsey should be playing for a "big" Premier League side.
Dempsey, 29, has scored 22 goals for the Cottagers this season, but talks over a new contract have stalled in recent weeks and Comolli believes that teams should be taking advantage of the uncertainty.
"Could Dempsey move to a big club? Of course it could happen. He is a player I have always liked. I even tried to sign him at Saint-Etienne," Comolli told Soccer Sport Extra.
"He has always been a very good player and this year all of his skills have shown even more because he has scored more."
Dempsey joined Fulham from New England Revolution in 2007.
