Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard: 'We haven't had enough clean sheets'

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard bemoans the lack of clean sheets this season, but insists that he and his teammates are working hard in training.

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard believes that the team should be trying harder to keep more clean sheets.

The Merseyside outfit have recorded eight shutouts this season, but have conceded 42 goals with seven games left to play in the Premier League.

This in contrast to last season when Roberto Martinez's side had 39 goals shipped past them in the entire 38-game league campaign.

"We obviously would want a clean sheet every week and we haven't had enough," the Liverpool Echo quotes Howard as saying.

"But that doesn't stop us going out there and training hard and that is what a lot of people miss, can't see and will never see, our work ethic on the training pitch."

Everton found themselves lingering close to the relegation zone last month, but after three wins in a row, the Toffees are now 12th in the table.
