Derby County will reportedly complete the signings of Darren Bent and Alex Pearce this week.
Bent is a free agent after his contract at Aston Villa expired, and he has been linked with a permanent switch to the Rams following a successful loan stint at the iPro Stadium last season.
The 31-year-old scored 10 goals in 15 Championship appearances during his five-month spell with Derby.
Reading defender Pearce is also out of contract this summer and it is thought that he has rejected a new deal at the Madejski Stadium.
The 26-year-old came through Reading's youth academy and made 254 appearances for the Royals since his debut in 2007.
According to the Derby Telegraph, Bent and Pearce will finalise moves to the East Midlands this week.
The pair will become Paul Clement's first signings as Derby head coach.
