Jose Mourinho promises more chances for Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claims that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be given more opportunities after his impressive display in midweek.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will get more opportunities to prove his worth this season.

After their early struggles in the Premier League, Mourinho turned to the 19-year-old for Chelsea's 4-0 victory over Champions League rivals Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday night.

Loftus-Cheek impressed in a rare chance from the start and his manager believes that he can challenge the senior members of the squad.

"I think he's in the condition to compete with the other players for positions, for opportunities, for minutes, but he's getting minutes," Mourinho told reporters.

"He's potentially a very good player. But you have to feed these young players, and you have to choose the right moment. But the reality is that his evolution is important and good."
