Holger Badstuber suffers recovery setback

Holger Badstuber's recovery is hampered by a second operation to remove scar tissue from his right knee.

Bayern Munich centre-back Holger Badstuber has suffered a slight setback in his recovery from his cruciate ligament injury, the club has confirmed.

Badstuber suffered the injury in December against Borussia Dortmund and initial estimates put his time out as six months.

He has now had to undergo a further operation to remove scar tissue from around the knee, which could put another couple of weeks onto his recovery time.

He will now undertake a specialised recovery program for the new surgery, which will run for 10 days.
