Robin van Persie has yet to start negotiations over a new deal at Arsenal but Gunners chairman Peter Hill-Wood has insisted that the striker is "happy" at the Emirates.
The Dutchman has been in scintillating form for Arsene Wenger's side this season, but failing to kick-start contract talks has raised fears that the 28-year-old may be seeking a move away from the North London club.
"I think Robin wants to stay," the Daily Star quotes Hill-Wood as saying. "He seems very happy.
"Nothing has been discussed, though it is obvious we want him to stay. He doesn't want to talk about a contract now and that's fine with us."
Meanwhile, Arsenal will go head to head with Premier League leaders Manchester City this Sunday.
