Arsenal 'plotting swoop for Barcelona duo Dani Alves, Pedro'

Arsenal are allegedly lining up a double swoop for Barcelona stars Daniel Alves and Pedro.

Arsenal are allegedly planning to launch a sensational swoop for Barcelona duo Dani Alves and Pedro in January.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is ready to shell out £30m on the pair in an attempt to halt his team's recent slump, according to The Express.

Alves is said to have emerged as Wenger's top choice to fill the right-back role following Mathieu Debuchy's long-term injury and Calum Chambers's transition to central defence.

Pedro, who plays on the wing, was tipped to leave Barcelona following the arrival of Luis Suarez, but Arsenal could face competition for his signature from Liverpool and Manchester United.

It was recently reported that Wenger will be granted an additional £20m to solve the club's defensive crisis.
