Mikel Arteta insists that his Arsenal teammates are working tirelessly to turn round a poor run of form and are desperate to improve their lowly league position.

Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has insisted that the players share the supporters' frustrations at the club's poor run of form.

The Gunners are without a win in their last four matches and were booed off by their own fans following last weekend's home defeat to Swansea City.

Arteta admitted that the Swansea match was the culmination of an alarming dip in form that the team are trying hard to rectify.

He told The Mirror: "People are hurting, people are upset with themselves, the players are angry. I think that's a good thing. It's not like players couldn't care less, they know what they need to do.

"At Arsenal you have a group of players who want to give 100% and that makes things so much easier. I always see that in the dressing room. Always. You look at the players' faces, the disappointment, the hurt. They want to put it right.

"Last Saturday was probably the lowest point, but we hadn't won the last games before and that was disappointing. We need to win games, it doesn't matter how. The players want to put it right. I'm expecting a big reaction. I know we will get that from the players."

Arsene Wenger's side are back in action at the Emirates this weekend when they host West Bromwich Albion.
