Harlequins winger Ugo Monye has announced that he will retire from rugby at the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has won four major honours with Quins since starting his career at Twickenham Stoop back in 2002.

Monye has also enjoyed a successful international career with both England and the British and Irish Lions.

He won a total of 14 caps for England and also made two appearances for the Lions on their 2009 tour of South Africa, scoring a try during their victory in the third Test in Durban.

"It is a decision that I have been thinking about for a long time and one that I haven't taken lightly," Monye told Quins' official website. "I have had an unbelievable 13 years here at Quins and look back on my career with no regrets.

"I can honestly say that the one thing I am most proud of is that I have been a one-club man in a game that is ever changing and I am excited to be staying on at the club after my retirement in a different capacity."

Harlequins are back in action on Saturday when they make the trip to Saracens in the Aviva Premiership.
