Wolverhampton Wanderers defender insists that the Championship is a "marathon not a sprint" after his side were booed off after Saturday's 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic.

Defender Christophe Berra has insisted that Wolverhampton Wanderers will improve in the coming months after they failed to beat Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

Wolves have failed to hold onto several half-time leads this season and Berra and his teammates were booed off by their home fans at the weekend, but the Scottish international believes that Wolves will improve as the season goes on.

"I can understand the fans' frustrations but I think it is going to come good in time," he said.

"We are a big club with big expectations and want to be up towards the top of the table.

"It is a marathon not a sprint and there is a long way to go. We have to keep on picking up points but need to turn these draws into victories."

Wolves are currently in eighth place in the Championship table.
