Teddy Sheringham joins West Ham United coaching staff

Former West Ham United striker Teddy Sheringham joins the club's coaching staff to work with their attacking players.

West Ham United have announced that Teddy Sheringham has joined the team's coaching staff.

The former Hammers striker, who spent three years at the club, will work with the team's attacking players after they scored just 40 goals during the 2013-14 Premier League season.

"I'm buzzing. I've had offers to get back into football but this one seemed right," Sky Sports News quotes the 48-year-old as saying.

Sheringham retired from playing football in 2008 after a brief spell with Colchester United.
