Diafra Sakho hails new West Ham United midfielder Dimitri Payet

Dimitri Payet will prove to be a huge success at West Ham United this season, predicts striker Diafra Sakho.

West Ham United striker Diafra Sakho has heaped praise on new signing Dimitri Payet for his creativity on the eve of the new season.

The pair combined to put the Hammers ahead against Wolfsburg in their final pre-season friendly, and Sakho expects his new teammate to set up plenty of goals this season.

He told West Ham TV: "He always creates goals, whether that's for me on Sunday or [Enner] Valencia last time. He's always there to give those assists. I think he'd prefer to give the passes than even score his own goals and we're there to take advantage of it.

"If you have a player like him, you've got to make the most of it and try to score as many goals as possible. I hope that's the first assist and he's going to have plenty more."

West Ham travel to Arsenal on Sunday.
