Sebastian Larsson urges Sunderland fans to stick by team

Sebastian Larsson calls on the Sunderland fans to stick by the team, despite their poor form at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson has encouraged the club's supporters to remain patient with the team.

Certain sections of the home faithful booed the Black Cats off following their 0-0 draw with Championship side Fulham in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

It was Sunderland's seventh draw of the season at the Stadium of Light - a ground where they have won just once in the Premier League.

However, Sweden international Larsson has insisted that the squad are "working hard" to reverse their fortunes on Wearside.

"Confidence is a big thing in football, but even if you don't read stuff we know we have not won enough games at home, simple as that," the Sunderland Journal quotes the 29-year-old as saying.

"We would love this to be a place where we win more or less all the time. We are trying our best to make that happen.

"At the moment it is just not happening. We have to keep plugging away, working hard, and keep asking the fans to back us. Hopefully it will come good."

In total, Sunderland have drawn half of their 22 Premier League games this season.
