Chelsea are reportedly plotting a bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Benoit Assou-Ekotto.
The Blues are expected to lose first-choice left-back Ashley Cole on a free transfer when his current contract expires at the end of the season.
According to The Mirror, the Stamford Bridge outfit are keen to bring in another experienced player in Cole's position and are likely to offer Spurs £6m for the Cameroon international, 28.
Assou-Ekotto made 40 club appearances in all competitions last season, but he has only featured three times this campaign because of a knee injury.
