Emmanuel Adebayor is reportedly open to staying with Manchester City if Jose Mourinho is appointed manager.

Emmanuel Adebayor has reportedly pondered a return to Manchester City, but only if Jose Mourinho replaces Roberto Mancini as manager.

The Togolese striker, who is currently on loan from City at Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season, has a uncertain future as previous reports have suggested that Spurs cannot afford to offer the frontman a permanent deal at White Hart Lane.

It is believed that the former Arsenal player would be willing to revive his career at City if Real Madrid boss Mourinho is brought in as the club's new manager, according to the Express.

Reports have claimed that Mancini's position at the Premier League outfit could be under threat if the North West side fail to overcome Manchester United and clinch the title.

While Mourinho has denied any contact with City, the Portuguese coach has been touted as a possible replacement for Mancini.
