Jan Vertonghen: 'Goals will come for Harry Kane'

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen believes that 22-year-old striker Harry Kane will end his current goal drought soon.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has backed striker Harry Kane to end his current goal drought.

The 22-year-old striker - who scored 31 goals in 51 matches last season - is yet to score for Spurs this term, but Vertonghen believes that the England international will soon be back on the scoresheet.

"He has just been a bit unlucky. He scored for England and in the training sessions he has been doing very well, so the goals will come," Vertonghen is quoted by the London Evening Standard as saying.

"He's not a guy who will just have one good season and then you never see him again. He has the qualities to perform and the goals will come eventually."

Tottenham will take on Arsenal in the League Cup on Wednesday evening.
