Alan Pardew has ruled himself out of the running to become the next England manager.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has declared himself out of contention to become the next England coach.

Fabio Capello is expected to step down after the Euro 2012 tournament next summer, and the former West Ham United boss has been one of many British coaches linked to the role.

Despite being flattered by the interest, Pardew doesn't think that he is ready for the job at this point in his career.

"It's nice to hear your name mentioned with things like that, but in terms of the England job, it's not for me at this time," said Pardew.

"I'm just not interested in it. I don't think I have the experience to do that job.

"There's someone in hospital at the moment (Harry Redknapp) who could definitely do the job though. I think he's at the right age and he's had the right experience in his career."

The Tottenham Hotspur boss is the favourite to succeed the Italian.
