Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris doubts his team's chances of challenging for this season's Premier League title.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has conceded that his side are 'missing something' in order to launch a serious challenge for this season's Premier League title.

Spurs have collected five points from their four league matches this season to sit ninth, with Mauricio Pochettino's side already seven points off division leaders Liverpool.

Lloris has said that the capital outfit should forget about winning the title for the moment as "there's something missing" in the early stages of the 2019-20 campaign.

"Liverpool and Manchester City have the experience and they are really competitive," Lloris told Sky Sports News. "I think, at the moment, there's something missing from us. We will see later in the season because things turn very quickly in football.

"The most important thing is we focus on ourselves, to get points, to get consistency in the league. And we will see where we are in the table in April, in March. That is the moment when you can win or lose European places or trophies. At the moment, we don't want to lose focus with that type of question."

Tottenham, who are also five points off second-placed Manchester City, gave up a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Arsenal in the North London derby last weekend.

Pochettino's side are next in Premier League action at home to Crystal Palace on September 14.
