Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone bemoans last season following a lengthy ankle injury that kept him on the sidelines.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Huddlestone believes that he will be ready for the new Premier League campaign following a "frustrating" season.

The 25-year-old, who competed in Spurs' 1-1 draw with Los Angeles Galaxy in a pre-season friendly yesterday, missed the majority of last season with an ankle injury.

"Last season was so frustrating," said Huddlestone. "I made four appearances at the start but then I picked up the ankle problem which persisted for months.

"It was particularly hard when I was two or three weeks away from returning and then I discovered I needed another operation that ruled me out for the season.

"That was a big setback but once I knew I would not play again, I could concentrate solely on getting ready for this pre-season."

Reports earlier this month claimed that Fulham have shown an interest in the midfielder.
