Ruud Gullit "curious" to see Louis van Gaal at Tottenham Hotspur

Ruud Gullit believes that Tottenham Hotspur need a manager like Louis van Gaal.

Former Chelsea and Newcastle United coach Ruud Gullit believes that Louis van Gaal is the perfect manager for Tottenham Hotspur.

The 62-year-old Netherlands coach is reported to be in talks with the North London club about the possibility of taking the job after next summer's World Cup in Brazil.

Gullit said that Van Gaal will not try to sign players for big money and will work with the talent already available to him in the Spurs squad.

"I am really curious how Van Gaal will do when he arrives," The Mirror quotes the 51-year-old as saying. "It makes me want to follow everything he is going to do and change.

"Van Gaal has his own style. He is so strong and so dominant, but of all the clubs in the Premier League Tottenham will suit him better than any other. Why? Because Tottenham has always been a footballing side. They have gone back to defensive football and playing with a kind of fear to lose.

"The great thing about Van Gaal is that he will not want new players. He thinks there is enough quality there. 'You can do more with that squad', is his motto. Right now they won't be able to bridge the gap on the League leaders. They have to start playing in a different style if they want to achieve things."

Tim Sherwood signed an 18-month contract at White Hart Lane last week.
