Emmanuel Adebayor: 'We knew we had the quality to win'

Emmanuel Adebayor insists that Tottenham Hotspur always believed that they had the quality to beat Everton.

Emmanuel Adebayor has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur always believed that they had the quality to beat Everton.

Spurs struggled to find their rhythm in the first half, but Adebayor's second-half goal was enough to see them climb to fifth in the Premier League table.

"I am very happy for the team and winning the goal was important for confidence. We kept calm, we knew we had the quality to make a breakthrough and we did in the end," Adebayor told BBC Sport.

"We want to be winning games 3-0 but we want the fans to be patient. It's not going our way at the moment."

Spurs travel to Newcastle United on Wednesday.
