Nacer Chadli: 'Tottenham Hotspur motivated to win Europa League'

Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli admits that the Champions League place on offer is an extra incentive for them to win the Europa League this season.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli has admitted that the Champions League place on offer is an extra incentive for them to win the Europa League this season.

Spurs resume their continental campaign when they host Italian side Fiorentina in the first leg of their last-32 tie at White Hart Lane on Thursday evening.

They remain firmly in contention to qualify for the Champions League via their Premier League finish, but have a second chance should they miss out on the top four as the Europa League winner punches a ticket into next season's premier European tournament.

Chadli has insisted that Spurs, who also have a Capital One Cup final date with Chelsea to look forward to, are not prioritising any competition but are perhaps motivated to win the Europa League more than in previous years.

"There are still a lot of games to go," the Belgian is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying. "We want to win the Europa League and same with the Premier League - where there are still 13 games to go. So for us it is important to keep those two competitions in our pockets and see how far we can go.

"Tomorrow is the most important game, and Sunday we have an important game too [against West Ham], but for now we are just focusing on tomorrow. It is the most important game for now.

"It is much more important now the winner goes straight to the Champions League."

Spurs last played in the Champions League when they reached the quarter-finals in the 2010-2011 competition.
