Ronald Koeman disappointed with Southampton performance

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman reveals that he is disappointed with his side's display going forward in their 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has admitted that he was disappointed with his side's performance in their 0-0 draw against West Bromwich Albion.

The Saints struggled in front of goal as they failed to carve out any clear-cut opportunities at St Mary's, but did enough at the back to earn their first point of the campaign.

Koeman told BBC Sport: "We didn't have the quality to create a lot. I was disappointed by the level we had today in an offensive way.

"It is our first point and that is good but we need to play better. Last week we played better in a higher tempo.

"The first 45 minutes we built up too slowly and didn't surprise them in attack. I tried to change it but in the second half it still wasn't good."

Southampton are currently 13th in the Premier League after two games this season.
