Southampton to start 'one or two youngsters' at Coventry

Nigel Adkins admits that he is expecting to change his side ahead of this weekend.

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has said that he is prepared to make changes to his side ahead of the FA Cup this weekend.

The 46-year-old is facing several injuries and suspensions ahead of his side's showdown at Coventry, but admits that Saints have always been eager to give their younger players an opportunity to start.

"Rickie [Lambert] is suspended and we have several players that are out injured, but so does every team in the country," he told the club's official website.

"It is about how you deal with it. We have young players who we want to bring through the system when the opportunity arises. We have always said at this club that we want to bring the youngsters through as much as possible.

"The FA Cup gives us another opportunity to give one or two of the youngsters that first team football that we want them to experience, but ultimately we want to win the game."

Southampton have lost back-to-back games for the first time this season heading into this weekend's FA Cup clash.
