Brian Laws: 'Andy Dawson is a natural coach'

Scunthorpe United boss Brian Laws believes that player-coach Andy Dawson will excel as a manager.

Scunthorpe United boss Brian Laws has branded player-coach Andy Dawson "a natural".

Dawson, who signed a one-year deal with the League Two outfit in the summer, has recently been appointed manager of the club's reserve team.

"Andy's going to be a natural at it and that's one of the reasons why we asked him to come in and do it," Laws told the club's official website.

"It's his next progression after playing and he's enjoying it. It's ideal for him to come in and get used to the management and coaching side of things and he'll no doubt brush his experience onto some of the younger players."

Scunthorpe currently sit eighth in the League Two table.
