Alexis Sanchez: 'Madrid derby perfect for us'

Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez hails a successful weekend for the Catalan outfit.

Barcelona attacker Alexis Sanchez has admitted that the result of Sunday's Madrid derby between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid "was very good" for the Catalan outfit.

Atletico and Real shared the points in a 2-2 draw at the Vicente Calderon on Sunday afternoon, before Barcelona beat Almeria 4-1 to move within one point of the top of the table.

"The result from the Madrid derby was very good for us but the most important thing is that we did our own job well," the Chile international told the club's official website.

"We secured three more points and now we're just one behind Real Madrid. We have to try and get the top spot of the table back as soon as possible."

Sanchez is Barcelona's leading scorer in the league this season with 16 goals.
