Norwich City boss Paul Lambert insists that he has always felt "wanted" at Carrow Road and has no intentions of leaving the Canaries.

Norwich City manager Paul Lambert has once again attempted to distance himself from rumours linking him with the vacant managerial job at Aston Villa.

The former Championship boss has become the bookmakers' favourite to clinch the position with the Midlands club following Alex McLeish's dismissal.

"Never once have I not felt wanted here," Lambert told Sky Sports News. "I have got a really great rapport with the fans here as everybody knows and it's a special thing I think with the fans and myself.

"I know how quickly that can turn if you are not getting results, but the three years I've been here - the rapport I have with the fans is really special and a unique thing to get, and I love it here, I do."

Villa were believed to be closing in on appointing Molde coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before the former Manchester United star turned down an approach from the club.
