Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag wishes Jadon Sancho "the best of good luck" on his loan return to Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag said that he wishes Jadon Sancho "the best of good luck" when questioned on the attacker's return to Borussia Dortmund on loan.

On Thursday, it was confirmed that the England international had left Man United for BVB, and he will spend the second half of the campaign on loan with his former side.

Sancho has not played for the Red Devils since the end of August, with Ten Hag claiming that he left the ex-Manchester City youngster out against Arsenal at the start of September due to some poor performances in training.

The 23-year-old insisted that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat" in a post on social media, and the relationship with his manager has since broken down.

Sancho has not been involved in the first-team picture at Man United for some time, having seemingly refused to apologise for effectively calling his manager a liar.

There is no option for Dortmund to re-sign the forward permanently, so he will head back to Old Trafford this summer, and there is believed to be a chance that he could still have a future with the Red Devils.

Ten Hag was asked about the move during his press conference to preview Sunday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, and he sent his best wishes to the Englishman.

"I hope he's doing well, so I wish him the best of good luck. That's it. I hope he's doing well and he'll be a success," the Man United head coach told reporters.

The Dutchman was later asked again about the forward and said: "I replied [to the previous question], I think it's enough."

Upon securing a return to the club on Thursday, Sancho said: "When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like 'coming home'.

"I know the club inside and out, I've always been very close with the fans here, and I've never lost contact with those in charge.

"I can't wait to see my teammates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League."

Sancho joined Man United in the summer of 2021 off the back of scoring 50 goals and registering 64 assists in 137 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions.

However, the forward has found it difficult to make his mark for the 20-time English champions, managing just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances.
