Wayne Rooney signs new Manchester United deal?

Wayne Rooney signs a new contract with Manchester United worth £300,000 a week, according to two separate reports.

Wayne Rooney has reportedly committed his future to Manchester United by signing a contract until 2018.

The striker's future at Old Trafford had been in doubt last summer as Chelsea looked to take advantage of the fact that his previous deal expired in 2015, with speculation having claimed that the Blues submitted three bids for the England international.

However, United rejected those offers and have now convinced the 28-year-old to remain at the club with terms of £300,000 a week, according to The Times and The Sun.

If that does prove to be the case, then Rooney will earn £70.2m, which is highest figure in Premier League history.
