Alberto Moreno key to Manchester United's Fabio Coentrao pursuit?

A report in Spain says that Manchester United may be able to sign Fabio Coentrao, but only if Real Madrid are successful in their bid to recruit Alberto Moreno.

Real Madrid would reportedly consider allowing Fabio Coentrao to join Manchester United, but only if they were successful in their pursuit of Sevilla full-back Alberto Moreno.

Moreno, 21, is said to have a release clause in his contract at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan worth £25m, but Sevilla could be tempted to agree to a sale with a bid in the region of £12m, according to AS.

Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti recently ruled out any chance of him parting with Coentrao, but the report added that the Portuguese international could be granted permission to link up with United should Moreno sign on at the Bernabeu.

United are thought to want the 25-year-old on a loan basis rather than a permanent deal.
